Since our union began in 2019, Crown Melbourne and Sydney workers have organised 60 new employment areas into union coverage, winning these workers better pay and conditions under collective agreements. Their systematic organising built power by bringing previously non-union areas under collective protection.
Through persistent organising, casino workers brought over 60 new employment cohorts at Crown Melbourne and Sydney under union-negotiated agreements. Areas that had been stuck with substandard pay and conditions won access to the better wages and protections of collective agreements.
This dramatic expansion of union power throughout the casino showed what’s possible when workers unite department by department. By growing strength across diverse roles, our members built the collective muscle needed to tackle issues affecting all casino workers.
